December 21 - Saint Peter Canisius

Sometimes parents want to decide the future for their children and Peter’s father wanted him to be a lawyer. But Peter realized that he could not be happy in that style of life and when he listened to the call of God in his heart, he realized his vocation as a Jesuit. He worked in Germany and traveled throughout Europe on foot or on horseback. He wrote a lot and is famous for two catechisms that were reprinted over 200 times and translated into 15 languages. When people wondered how he did so many things, he answered: “If you have much to do, with God’s help you will find time for everything.”

Do you feel overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to do? Do you sometimes see that, with God’s help, you have been able to do much more than you thought you could do? Where do you think your true happiness is or true call lies?
