The son of a Roman emperor, Ambrose studied and became a famous lawyer. He was later appointed the governor of Milan and the region. At the time, the people suggested the name of the person whom they wanted as bishop, and the people chose him. Ambrose did not want to be bishop and tried to escape but was unsuccessful. He became a great model for his people, fought against evil and received threats and praises from the king when he confronted him for his evil actions. In the end, the emperor recognized that St. Ambrose was right.
