November 4 - Saint Charles Borromeo

Charles was the son of a very wealthy Italian Count. He seemed to be slow and was not a gifted speaker, so it appeared that Charles would not achieve success in the university. However, Charles excelled in his studies and when he was just 23 years old, Pope Pius IV entrusted him with important responsibilities. He was ordained a priest and later became cardinal and archbishop of Milan, where he was an important role model of compassion and service to the poor. During an epidemic in Milan, St. Charles did not think about anything else other than caring for the poor and sick. He died at the age of 46.

Have you ever thought that your limitation can prevent you from hearing God’s call? What would you have to overcome today in order to better serve the Lord?
