September 3 - Saint Gregory the Great

His father was a Roman senator and his mother was also canonized. His mother is Saint Silvia. Gregory studied philosophy and became governor of Rome. When his father passed away, he converted the home into a monastery. He was one of the seven deacons of Rome and when Pope Pelagius died, Gregory was named pope. He always cared for the poor, who he gave dinner to every day. He fought against slavery and was sentient to injustice.

What problems in your surroundings upset you because you think there is an injustice?
