St. John Eudes was attracted to the priesthood at a very early age. although at the time the majority of the clergy was behaving scandalously and setting a bad example. His mission was, therefore, to bring a solid formation and reform the clergy. He founded the Congregation of Jesus and Mary, known as the Eudists.
