Aloysius, the son of a marquis, wanted to enter the Jesuits. Initially his father refused to give him permission, trying to lure him to the lavishness of the court, but Aloysius remained firm in his idea of devoting his life to God.  He joined the Duke of Mantua and later became a page to King Philip II of Spain. He finally obtained permission from his father and joined the Jesuit novitiate. He died when he was just 23 years old.
