It seems that during the times of this saint, who was called Barabar Avrillot, it was customary for parents to make a promise of dedicating their children to God, so she remained in the convent until the age of 4. Later she would have preferred to remain there, but her parent guided her into marriage and she married the Viscount Pedro Acarie, whom she loved and had six children. She also had a servant with whom she became close in a great friendship and with whom Barbara shared her faith and prayer. When her husband died, Barbara entered one of the monasteries that she had helped to found.
