Perpetua was daughter of a nobleman of North Africa and Felicity was her servant. Even though they were a pagan family, Perpetua became a Christian despite her father’s pleas, and the fear for her life, since Christians were persecuted. Perpetua and her servant Felicity, who shared their faith and friendship, were persecuted, arrested, and taken to prison. Together they were both martyred.
