He was a very devout child and, although he had an enormous intellectual power, he was meek, gentle, kind, and humble. He gave away everything he had. Against the will of his parents, who were rich, he left his inheritance and entered the Dominican Order. He wrote great works of theology that even today are inspiring and the foundation for many theological studies.
