Februray 22 - Chair of Saint Peter

The feast of the Chair of St. Peter began in Antioch on February 22. It is literally the fixed chair of the Pontiff and the bishops. It is permanently placed in the mother church of the dioceses and is the symbol of the bishop’s authority and his teachings in the local church. The Chair of St. Peter therefore indicates their preeminent positions in the apostolic college, by the explicit will of Jesus, who entrusts them with the mission of tending his flock, that is, to guide the new people of God, the Church.

Do you know the names of the leaders of your local church? Do you try to find out what they are saying and teaching?
