A good teacher and lawyer, Raymond joined the Dominicans in the 13th century. The Pope asked him to write part of the Church’s history and Canon Law. He was elected superior general of the Dominicans and revised their rules, but what he wanted most was to be a parish priest. When they wanted to make him archbishop, he resisted. He worked with great enthusiasm and joy in a parish in Spain. He is the patron of Canon Law.
