December 31 – Saint Sylvester I
He was the pope in the 4th century. It is said that the emperor Constantine, before his conversion, persecuted Sylvester. The emperor than fell sick with leprosy and was in search of a cure. It is told that he had a dream were Peter and Paul revealed themselves to him and told him to go to Sylvester to find the cure. He went and asked to be baptized. During the baptism rites, Constantine was completely cured. Since then, the emperor was a passionate Christian and it marked the start of the Christendom times, since Christianity was spread throughout the empire.
