December 24 – Christmas Eve
“The light that shines on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, also guides us on our way toward peace.”
In Spanish we call this night Nochebuena, the good night. It is very appropriate. It is, in truth, a very good night. We celebrate that God wanted to live among us, became one of us and accompanied us in our journey toward peace, making it all possible. It is much better than any material gift we could receive this Christmas. The light of Christ on our sometimes dark lives is the best gift. It is the best night because it is filled with light.
How do you celebrate Christmas Eve? What areas of your life do you feel are filled with life and peace this night?
