The story is very well known. Juan Diego, a humble indigenous person, met Mary of Guadalupe on his way to a catechesis class. The Virgin gives him a task to do and he does it. Afterward, for centuries, he remained in the shadows so that people may honor Mary as the Mother of the true God. Today, besides honoring her, we can think of the ways that Mary and her Son sends us, just like Juan Diego, to proclaim his truth. We can also ponder how Juan, although aware of his own limitations, went out and did what was asked of him.
