December 7 - Saint Ambrose

Ambrose was the son of the Roman governor of Gaul. After his father died, his mother moved the family to Rome. Ambrose studied and became a famous lawyer. Then he was named the governor of Milan. But soon he was named bishop of Milan, by popular acclaim. He was then ordained priest and bishop. He became a great model and father of his people. Ambrose defended the people against abuse from the emperor, and was not afraid to confront him. Theodosius, the emperor, came to realization that Ambrose was right.
The people were afraid of what would happen after Ambrose dies, but he told them that he was not afraid of dying, because we had a Good Master. He died in the year 397.

How do you see the events in your life that come as a calling God is making to you?
