December 3rd - Saint Francis Xavier

Francis Xavier was the son of a wealthy family. He was sent to study in Paris where he met Ignatius of Loyola, who was beginning the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). But Francis Xavier preferred to have a good time instead. In the end, he was won over by Ignatius and entered the Jesuits. He went as a missionary to India, where he converted many people to Catholicism and formed them to become lay leaders. Francis Xavier wanted to travel to China to continue his mission, but died before he arrived at the age of 46. St. Francis Xavier is the patron of all missions.

How do I share my faith with others? Do I feel called to leadership in the church? How do I prepare?
