November 28 - Saint Catherine Laboure

She was the daughter of a French farmer and was unable to attend school. Catherine’s mother died when she was a young girl and she had to work in the home because her older sister entered the convent.  Catherine would have also liked to enter the convent, but she had to wait until she was no longer needed in the house. Finally she was able to become a member of the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. She had two apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but after she told her father confessor, who then told the bishop, she continued to quietly do her work in the convent, without anyone knowing she had had the Marian visions.

It is difficult for you to keep quiet about your good deeds or your talents?
