It seems like a riddle. The dead do not die because they want to, therefore, does God cease to be their God when they die? Better yet, what is denied here is that death is the end to all. God is the God of life, and gives eternal life. In other words, death never has the final word, and physical death is a journey toward a new life. It seems hard to believe that someone we love is no longer with us and yet we believe in that promise. That God is the God of the living means that we must live in works of light, life and hope. That we cannot allow ourselves to be conquered by evil, slavery and all that is darkness.
What do you think about death and beyond? Do you think there is a greater life with God?
