November 4 - St. Charles Borromeo.

Charles was born into a wealthy family and became a bishop at a very young. He did not allow material wealth to remove him from his great humbleness and devotion to God or from his compassion and service to the poor. He transformed his diocese of Milan into a role model for the entire church. Although he was not a great speaker, his words touched people. When the plague hit Milan, Charles organized the entire diocese to care for the sick and poor, and placed altars throughout the streets so people could attend Mass form their windows.

Are you creative in the ways you help others? Do you allow yourself to be convinced by material things, considering these to be more important?
