This Spaniard saint of the 16th century was married and had two children, but when all appeared to be going great in his life, his daughter became ill and died and then followed his wife. Afterwards, his son also passed away. Alphonsus prayed a lot asking for the gift of confidence. He asked to enter the Society of Jesus, but had to study and merge, now in his forties, with children. At last he was accepted as a Jesuit brother and was named the keeper of a Jesuit college. From his keeper’s office, he gave advice, served and spread the Gospel to everyone who came to him.
