October 23 - Saint John Capistrano

"Priests have been placed here to care for others. Their lives should be an example, showing how they must live in the house of God."

Born in Italy in the 14th century, John was a lawyer and governor of the city of Peruggia. When his enemies captured and imprisoned him, he started to think about the true meaning of his life. He had the opportunity to think about how important his relationship with God and his love for Christ were. Upon leaving the prison, he became a Franciscan friar and preached throughout Europe.

What is the meaning of your life? Have you ever thought about what is truly important for you, above anything else?
