Hilarion lived during the 4th Century. As a child and young adult, he was not a believer, but after going to Egypt for school, he learned about Christianity and was converted. He wanted to be a hermit and lived two months with Saint Anthony Abad, in the desert. But he desired more solitude. He left everything he owned to the poor and left to the desert. After 20 years there, people began seeking his advice and prayers and staying with him. After some time, he began to travel looking for peace and solitude, but he was always surrounded by all the people asking for prayers and miracles.
