A child who could have become a spoiled brat, became instead a Doctor of the church and patroness of missions without even leaving her convent. She was the youngest of a five sisters and she was a princess in the home. Her mother died when she was just a child and her greatest desire was to enter the Carmel, where two of her sisters had already professed. Since she was only 15 years-old, she needed special persmission and she dared to ask the Pope himself. Because of her sensitivity, she suffered much in the convent but, through small sufferings and service, she reached a close union with God. She died very young in 1897 and was canonized in 1925.
