September 18. Saint Joseph Cupertino

He was a good young man from an extremely poor family. His father died when he was still a child. He was very, very absent-minded and people—including his own mother—thought he was useless. He could not work or study and his own family did not want to support him at home. And yet, when he decided to become a monk and had to take a very difficult test, he passed without problem. The truth was that Joseph was a brilliant man and is now a patron of students.

Have you ever felt judged or considered dumb or useless? Have you ever believed the opinion of others about you? How did you feel? What are the talents you have to offer for the service of the church and society?
