She is the first saint from the American continent. Born in Lima, Peru, her name Isabel, but they would call her Rose because she was so beautiful. As a young age, she had wanted to dedicate herself to God, in spite of her parents’ opposition; they had wanted her to marry. Although she was unable to make it to the convent, from her home she dedicated her time to prayer and to doing good deeds in Lima. She died at the young age of 31.
