His father made knives and swords and Peter was dedicated to this in his youth. But he would study in his free time. He learned Latin and deep down knew he wanted to be a priest. He joined the Marists and became the spiritual director to the seminarians. He had a great devotion to the Eucharist. Later, he obtained permission to form a new religious order of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. They are now known as the Priests of the Blessed Sacrament. He later founded a religious order, the Servants of the Blessed Sacrament. He died in 1868.
