June 22 – Saint Paulinus of Nola

Paulinus was the son of the governor of Burdens in France, during the 4th century. He received a good education and became a lawyer. When he was 28 years old, he was named the governor of Campania, Italy. He became a Catholic at the age of 36. Paulinus and his wife Theresa had a son, but when he died, they gave their property to the poor and dedicated themselves to a simple life of prayer. Later, they founded a small community of monks and opened an inn for the poor and pilgrims.
