June 17 - Saint Avitus

As a child, he was curious of the lives of monks and would ask them questions about who they were, what they did and why they served. It seems like the questions were adequate, because this curiosity became the desire to imitate them. He was so full of enthusiasm, that he abbot entrusted him the office of the treasurer, responsible to prepare meals and care for the shop. He always has sufficient for the poor. But it seems to have brought up jealousy of other monks, and that made consider the desire of solitude.  He left the monastery and it took the plea of many and the intervention of the bishop to pull him out of retirement and accept the government of the abbey.

Do you feel curiosity of some sort for a type of life or a special vocation? How do you pursue that interest?
