Ana María was a very poor child from Rome who was mistreated by her parents. While working as domestic servant in a home she fell in love with a worker who had a terrible temper, but who little by little became kinder thanks to his relationship with Ana María. Although she was illiterate, her fame for holiness spread throughout the entire city and people came to her from all over to see spiritual advice. Her principal task was to care for her family and Ana María instilled in them great piety and a life of prayer.
