Norbert was the son an aristocratic family and was extremely intelligent. His uncle was the archbishop of Cologne, Germany and introduced him to the priesthood with all types of material benefits.  He lived well and had many luxuries and comforts until one day Norbert found himself in the middle of a terrible storm and began making sense of life. He repented of all his excesses and scandals and dedicated the rest of his life to preaching the righteous way. He founded a monastic and apostolic Order.
