April 30 - Saint Catherine of Siena
She was a joyful and mischievous child, but at a very young age she received a vision that led her to devote her life to prayer. Her mother thought that she had gone crazy and to cure her she put her at the service of the maid. Catherine did not refuse and dedicated herself to serving others. Her mother wanted Catherine to marry, but she envisioned another vocation and it was her father who intervened in her favor, allowing her to be free to follow her vocation. She enjoyed great intelligence, heavenly inspiration, and studied. She also had the courage to speak to her parents and the authorities to correct abuses and defend the church. St. Catherine is a doctor of the church.
Do you dare to use your voice to defend what you perceive as the truth?
