He was a brilliant young man, who desired to be a priest so he could climb rapidly. It is said that he had a strong personality and was ostentatious. One day Telmo literally fell off his high horse into the mud and was humiliated by the people’s laughter. This made him reflect; he became a Dominican and led a more humble life. He preached in Galicia and is the patron saint of maritime workers.
