He had a life full of adventures. Patrick was captured by pirates and taken from his native England to Ireland, where he was sold as a slave at the age of 16. While he was tending the herd in Ireland he experienced a religious conversion. He fled to Gaul (Frances) and became a disciple of St. Germanus. His teachers advised him to return to Ireland, where he was appointed bishop. His missionary enthusiasm led to the conversion of Ireland. The Irish have a great devotion for their patron saint, who is also celebrated in major cities in the United States. One of the most beautiful prayers of Saint Patrick is one that speaks of Christ above, before, in front, in back, inside and outside of everything. In other words, to live fully in Christ.
