March 11 – Saint Eulogius of Cordova

Eulogius lived in Spain in the 9th century. He received a great education and was very studious of the Bible. During his studies, Eulogius felt the strong calling to share God’s message to all. He became a priest and was the director of a school. A great part of Spain, at the time, was dominated by Muslims, and the Christians were persecuted. Eulogius was imprisoned and, while in prison he would read the Bible out loud for the other prisoners, giving them comfort and strength to face their martyrdom. Eulogius was freed, but when he began to preach the divinity of Jesus, he was once again imprisoned and condemned to death.

Which is your favorite Scripture message? How would you like to share that message?
