March 6 - Saint Colette

She was born in the 14th century in France. Colette’s father was a carpenter in an abbey and she would help her mother with the house errands. She was always appreciable and inclined to prayer. When she was 17 years old, her parents passed away and she went to live in the monastery were her father had worked. There she began her life in prayer and her example attracted many people who looked to her for advice. Colette joined the Third Order of St. Francis and helped reform the Order of the Poor Clares, who had slightly separated from the purpose of their foundation.
