Born of a well off family, Katharine never forgot her Christian promise and her desire to serve the poor. She was very generous with her money, time and work with the African American and Native American communities most in need. In 1891, she founded a religious community, named the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. Katharine and her religious sisters founded schools, convents, and missionary churches. In 1925, they founded the Xavier University in New Orleans.
Have you thought of how you would utilize your time, talent and the material things you own to better serve God and others?
