February 5 – Saint Agatha

She lived in Sicily in the 3rd century. She was very beautiful and the governor wanted to take her to his palace. But Agatha rejected the governor’s impolite aspirations. They took her to a house of a bad woman, to see if she would change, but they did not manage. After trying to win her over with other methods, including with kindness, the governor became very frustrated with Agatha’s stubbornness and sent her to prison, where she died a martyr in 250.
