February 1 - Saint Brigid of Ireland

Called the “Mother of the Irish”, Brigid was a beautiful young girl from a wealthy family. She lived in Ireland in the 6th century and from her childhood she wanted to serve God with all her strength. There are stories of when she was still very young and went on errands and on her way, she gave everything to the poor. She had to resist her father’s opposition to her becoming  a religious sister, but when she finally could do it, she founded a convent so that other young girls would also be able to follow their vocation.

Is there something in your life that you wouldn’t want to give to anyone, not even to God? What would happen if you did?
