January 21 – Saint Agnes

Agnes was a 12 year old Roman girl who suffered martyrdom for her faith in the 4th century. There is not much  known of her life, but legend says she had wanted to give herself completely to Christ in body and soul, and after rejecting a rich Roman noble, was accused to the governor, who promised her gifts and riches if she denied her faith. But the young girl was firm in her conviction and was martyred.

Do you consider yourself too young to receive the calling from God to give yourself completely?
