January 16 - Saint Berard and Companions

Berard and Companions were Franciscan friars who went to Morocco to preach the gospel in Islamic countries. At first they were taken for crazy and the sultan of Morocco gave them freedom. They then devoted themselves to preaching, but many didn’t like this and complained to the sultan, who ordered them to stopped preaching or leave. St. Berard and Companions refused and were immediately beheaded.

Do you have a holy madness to do what God asks although it may seem strange or different to others?
