Theodosius was from Asia Minor and always wanted to be a monk. He was joined by many and they built a monastery near Bethlehem. It didn’t take long before it was filled with monks from Greece, Armenia, Arabia, and Persia. It became a small city with buildings for the elderly, the poor, and the helpless. St. Theodosius was very generous and never denied food to anyone.
