Born in Asia Minor, Theodosius had made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and there he decided to devote his life to prayer. He built a large monastery near Bethlehem. It had three buildings: one for the sick, another for the elderly and the third for the poor and homeless. He was always very generous and never let anyone go away without food, even when it was scarce in the monastery.
